Golden Falcon Bands


 
Golden Falcon Marching Band
 
The Golden Falcon Marching Band is our largest and most visible ensemble.  This group actively performs at all home varsity football games, area parades, selected competitions, and other events.
 
Membership is open to all interested students, although students must audition for spots in the drumline and color guard. 
 
The band performs in a standard corps style with a new, entertaining theme for each season.  Past themes include...

Golden Falcon Concert Band
 
Concert band takes place year round!!!
 
Students participating in marching band will end their semester with a Christmas concert and preparation for honor band auditions.
 
Students enrolled in spring semester concert band will prepare music for a concert scheduled in May and prepare for honor band auditions.  The spring group may perform at festivals as the director sees fit.
 
In both semesters, students will work through rigorous exercises designed to improve an array of technical skills.  Students are highly encouraged to participate in auditions for all-district and all-county along with multiple honor band festivals.  Students enrolled at the honors level are expected to audition for all-county band.  Students may also be expected to cover parts for the jazz band as needed by the director.

Golden Falcon Jazz Band
"The Band of Gold"
 
The CBA Jazz Band is comprised of students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitars, and percussion.  Enrollment is based on audition.  All members are expected to cover parts for the concert band as needed by the director.
 
This ensemble actively performs for the general public in various school, civic and community events.  They may also perform at festivals as the director sees fit.
 
During class, students will develop a working repertoire of selections to be used for numerous performances and focus on performance aspects of jazz, specifically improvisation and exposure to countless styles and "standards."  Students are encouraged to audition for all-district jazz and honor band festivals.
