Occupational Introduction to Mathematics
First Period (8:00 - 9:30)
Rules and Expectations:
Be on time to class.
No book bags allowed in class.
Follow dress code procedures.
Have materials ready prior to class starting (2 pencils, notebook, red pen, highlighter).
No eating, drinking, or chewing gum in class.
Leave classroom neat upon departure.
Be respectful to teachers and peers.
Participate in all classroom activities.
Complete homework on time.
Keep notebooks organized.
Times available for Parent Conference (by appointment only) Monday - Thursday (12:00 - 1:30)
Overview of Occupational Introduction to Mathematics
Goal I: Understand rational numbers.
Goal II: Apply mathematical operations with rational numbers to solve problems.
Goal III: Apply ratios, proportions and percents to solve problems.
Goal IV: Use properties of two and three dimensional figures to solve problems.
Goal V: Apply time and measurement skills to solve problems.
Goal VI: Apply algebraic properties to solve problems.
Goal VII: Understand patterns and relationships.
Goal VIII: Understand data in terms of graphical displays, measure of center and range.
