Course Expectations

In this class, the student will learn the following course objectives:
  • Extend the properties of exponents to rational exponents. 
  • Construct and compare linear and exponential models and solve problems.
  • Perform arithmetic operations with complex numbers.
  • Interpret the structure of expressions.
  • Understand the relationship between zeros and factors of polynomials
  • Use polynomial identities to solve problems
  • Rewrite rational expressions
  • Use properties of rational and irrational numbers
  • Use complex numbers in polynomial identities and equations
  • Create equations that describe numbers or relationships.
  • Interpret functions that arise in applications in terms of the context
  • Analyze functions using different representations
  • Build functions from existing functions
  • Use complex numbers in polynomial identities and equations
  • Solve equations and inequalities in one variable
  • Extend the domain of trigonometric functions using the unit circle.
  • Prove and apply trigonometric identities
  • Understand and evaluate random processes underlying statistical experiments
  • Use probability to evaluate outcomes of decisions
