 Aug 2017 11/15/17  ECU Honors College $62,000 Apply to ECU. Minimum requirements=math/verbal SAT (old SAT) score of 1200 and/or 1270 (new SAT) or a score of 27 on the ACT and a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 or weighted GPA of 4.0.
Honors students are provided with the opportunity to engage in immersive service-learning, undergraduate research, and pre-professional experiences throughout their undergraduate years. Students will leave the Honors College with a foundation of skills and experiences designed to make them competitive for graduate programs, scholarships, and careers following graduation. 
 Aug 2017 10/31/17 Coca-Cola Scholars   $20,000  The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation invests in our future — offering college scholarships to exceptional high school students dedicated to leadership, service, and action that positively affects others. We’ve done it for more than 25 years, changing the paths of more than 5,850 young people ready to change the world.

Applicants should have an unweighted GPA of 3.8 or higher, and a score of 1900 or better on all three parts of the SAT and 29-36 on the ACT.  You must demonstrate a commitment to community service and a capacity for ethical leadership.

This is a competition for well-rounded students who are interested in studying in the fields of engineering, business management, chemistry, polymer chemistry international studies, design, apparel, fashion, merchandising or retail management. 
 Sept. 2017 10/02/17 Wendys High School Heisman   Up to $10,000

Have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of a B (3.0) or better.  Participate in at least one of the 47 sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Association and sponsored by your school. Be a leader in school and in the community and serve as a role model for underclassman.

Requirements: Be a competitive applicant for admission as a freshman in the fall semester into a baccalaureate program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University; Be a United States citizen or permanent resident; Be on course to graduate from high school in the spring semester prior to college admission; Minimum 4.0 GPA; Minimum 1280 (new)/ 1200 (old) SAT or 28 ACT; exceptional qualities of character and leadership; Be significantly involved in extracurricular activities; Demonstrate a strong commitment to service
 Sept. 2017 10/25/17 Horatio Alger Association   Up to $25,000

(Multiple scholarships available) 
 Assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.
 Sept. 2017  6/19/18  Big Sun Scholarship  $500   All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute.
 Sept. 2017  1/31/18  Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship  Full tuition & fees, monthly stipend 

The Navy ROTC program is a multi-year program that runs concurrently with  a student's normal college program.  In addition to the academic workload, Naval ROTC students attend classes in Naval Science, participate in the ROTC unit and are taught the general leadership principles and high ideals of a military officer.

 Sept. 2017 9/27/17 Quest Bridge College Match Various  This national scholarship and college match organization offers low-income, academically strong students the opportunity to gain admission and scholarships to attend their partner colleges.
 Sept. 2017 10/6/17 AES Engineer Scholarship  $500  Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped.  For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.  Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible
 Sept. 2017  11/15/17  Thomas Wolfe Scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill  Full 4-yr Scholarship   The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship's level of support is comparable to that of the University's well-known Morehead Scholarships. The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship seeks to identify and reward students with exceptionally focused literary ability and promise.
 Sept. 2017  11/14/17  Jack Kent Cook Foundation  Up to $40,000/ yr   The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies

 Shelton National Leadership Scholarship

 $10,000/ yr

 This is one of the USA’s most prestigious scholarships for student leaders. It is awarded to an entering freshman, valued at $10,000 per year, renewable upon satisfactory academic progress and leadership involvement.

 Sept. 2017 none   Kid's Chance of NC  up to $5000   The mission of Kids’ Chance of North Carolina, Inc. is to provide educational scholarships to the children of North Carolina workers who have been catastrophically or fatally injured in work-related accidents
 Sept. 2017  11/27/17  Elks Most Valuable Student up to $60,000   The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2018 competition.  Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.  Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.  Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.  Male and female students compete separately
 Sept. 2017  12/1/17 (to the counseling office) OR 12/8/17 (student delivers to Elk's Lodge)  Elks Nursing Scholarship  $1000.00 The scholarship is open to all students who are pursuing a career in nursing and plan to attend a North Carolina school that offers a nursing degree program leading to nursing licensing. 
 9/22/17 10/15/17 (NCSU application) OR 12/1/17 (self-nomination)  NCSU Goodnight Scholars  Up to $19,500/ yr


To receive an automatic invitation to apply, a student must:: Submit his or her general NC State application by October 15, 2017. *Be a North Carolina resident. *Have an adjusted gross income up to $100,000 and demonstrate financial need (confirmed via the FAFSA), *Select a STEM  major; *Demonstrate a history of exceptional academic performance. The dynamic type of student selected to apply typically achieves the following: Rank in the top 2% of his/her graduating class; Score above 1450 on the new SAT (CR+M) (equivalent to a 1400 on the old SAT) and/or score above a 32 on the ACT; Have at least a 3.9 (unweighted) GPA and/or 4.8 (weighted) GPA

 9/22/17 Emmet & Mary Robinson Scholarship 12/1/17 varies  Applicants must: be a resident of Wayne County, NC; be a senior at a WCPS, pursue a degree in medicine, nursing, agriculture or ministry in the Presbyterian or Episcopal church; demonstrate financial need; possess traits of high moral standards
