  • Duke and UNC Chapel Hill Robertson Scholars Program:  Applicants should be extraordinary high school leaders of outstanding academic potential and character.  You must have high academic achievement and be able to leverage your leadership skills to greatly impact the community and world.  Go to robertsonscholars.org to self-nominate. 
  • BigSun Scholarship:  The organization awards scholarships to student athletes. You must be currently involved in athletics in some capacity either at school or in the community.  Go to bigsunathletics.com to apply.  Deadline is June 19, 2017
  • Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship:  Benefits include full tuition & fees, monthly stipend as well as the freedom to choose your own major.  For more information and to apply go to https://www.nrotc.navy.mil.

  • NC High School Athletic Association Scholarships: Various scholarships are available for athletes.  Go to www.nchsaa.org/students-parents/student-athlete-scholarships.  Scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,000.  Deadlines Feb 9th & April 8th.
  • Navy ROTC Scholarship:  Up to $180,000 to be awarded.  You must be a US citizen, at least 17 years old, have minimum ACT scores of 21 on Math and 22 in English or minimum SAT scores of 520 on math and 530 on verbal. Contact a Navy recruiter to apply.

    Sun Trust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes:  $5000 will be awarded every 2 weeks from Oct. 28 – May 12.  Students can register now for the sweepstakes at www.suntrusteducation.com/scholarshipsweepstakes .  GPA and financial need are NOT considered. 

    US ARMY ROTC:  Students may be eligible for merit-based, full-tuition scholarships and an annual stipend of up to $5,000 to cover living expenses, plus additional allowances for books & fees.  For more information visit www.goarmy.com/rotc/scholarships.jsp.

    9th Annual Create-A-Greeting Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest:  You can win $10,000 for college as well as $1,000 for our school.  You must submit a unique photo, piece of artwork or computer graphic for the front of a greeting card.  The student with the best design will win a scholarship and have the design made into an actual card.  Visit http://www.gallerycollection.com/greeting-cards-scholarship.htm to enter.     Air Force ROTC Scholarship:  You must meet the following minimum requirements to apply: SAT (Math/Critical Reading) 1180; ACT composite 26; 3.0 GPA.  Go to www.afrotc.com for more information and to apply.

    B. Davis Scholarship:  You must complete an essay to compete for this $1,000 scholarship.  It is not based on academics or financial need.  Go to www.studentawardsearch.com and click on “Scholarships”.  Deadline:  May 22, 2017

    Forgivable Education Loans:  Please be aware that the following scholarships are serviced under Forgivable Education Loans (FELS):

    • Nurse Scholars
    • Prospective Teachers’ Scholarship Loan
    • Student Loan for Health, Science and Mathematics
    • Millennium Teacher Scholarship

    These loans are paid back in service instead of dollars.  Applications for 2016-2017 FELS will be available soon at CFNC.org/FELS.  You may visit the site now and sign up to receive an email notification when applications are posted online.

     *Scholarship for Military Children:  Each year this program awards scholarships to seniors planning to enroll in a four-year program and to students already enrolled in college.  At least one $1500 scholarship is awarded at every commissary location.  Visit your nearest commissary or download an application at http://www.militaryscholar.org.   Application period will begin in December 13 and end in February. 

    *Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship:  The program provides an opportunity for rural students to earn a $1500 scholarship to further their agricultural education.  Students must apply at www.ffa.org/scholarships.

     *Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship:  Scholarships of $500, $3,000 and $1,000 will be award to students to attend any North Carolina college or university. Recipients are selected based on character, need and scholastic record as well as the merit of an essay.  Applications are available online at www.ncdames.orgDeadline:  Feb. 5, 2017

    Wayne County Livestock Dev. Association:  To apply you must plan to pursue a two-year or four-year degree in agriculture or a related field.  You may also apply if you have been an active participant in the WCLDA Junior Livestock Show and Sale and/or the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair.  Applications are in the Counseling Office.  Deadline: January 27, 2017

    Corvias Foundation Scholarships for Military Dependents:  If you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and your parent is an active-duty service member stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB or several other military installations, you are eligible for a scholarship of up to $50,000.  To learn more and apply, visit corviasfoundation.org or call 401-228-2836 or email info@corviasfoundation.org.  Applications are due by February 9, 2017. 

    LendEDU Scholarship:  To apply for this $1,000 scholarship, simply visit their website and respond to a writing prompt.  The address is https://lendedu.com/blog/scholarship-application.  Deadline:  April 15, 2017

    West Teaching Scholars at Catawba College:  To apply you must have a minimum SAT (Reading & Math) score of 1100 or equivalent and a minimum GPA of 3.4.  If your are interested in this teacher education scholarship, go to www.catawba.edu/academyforteaching and click "Applicants for a West Scholarship" to apply.  Deadline: May 5, 2017

    Golden LEAF Scholarship Program:  The Golden LEAF Scholarship program provides support for students who will attend community colleges or four-year universities.  Recipients may receive up to $1500/semester for attendance at a 4-year university and up to $750/semester for attendance at a community college.  Apply at CFNC.org/goldenleaf.  The application is under Application Procedure.  You will need your CFNC login information to apply.  Deadline:  March 1, 2017.

     Jagannathan Scholarship:  To apply for this $2,000 scholarship you must plan to attend a UNC system university.  Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular activities and evidence of leadership. Go to www.cfnc.org/jag.  Applications will be available in January.  You will need your CFNC login to apply.  Deadline:  February 1, 2017 

    American Legion:  Visit www.legion.org/needalift to see if you qualify to apply for scholarships offered.  Click on “Programs” and then “Scholarships” under Family and Youth.

    Various Scholarships:  To find information for scholarships, visit studentscholarships.org.  The site is a free resource for scholarship searches.

    NC Retail Merchants Association:  If you work in retail or have parents who work in retail, you may apply. Fourty-eight scholarships will be awarded.  Visit http://www.retailpaysforcollege.org to apply.  Click “NCRMA” at the top of the page.  Deadline:  March 20, 5017

    Discover Student Loans Scholarship:  To be eligible you must sign up to receive helpful tips on planning and paying for college at CollegeCovered.com.  Winners will be randomly drawn.  No purchase necessary.

    State Employees Credit Union “People Helping People” Scholarship:  One senior from each high school in North Carolina will receive $10,000 to attend one of the UNC system public universities.  To be considered, you must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  Please submit a resume to Ms. Diggs by April 24

    NC Farm Bureau R. Flake Shaw Scholarship:  The bureau is offering $3,750/year to attend a college or university and $1,000/year to attend a community college.  Applicants must demonstrate satisfactory grades, good character, financial need, leadership potential and plan to pursue a career in agriculture or an agriculturally-related field.  Go to www.ncfb.org and click on “Programs” and the “R. Flake Shaw Scholarship” to apply.  Deadline: March 3

    SEANC (State Employees Association of North Carolina) Scholarship:  Scholarships are available for SEANC members, their spouses and their children (dependents).  You may apply in one of three categories (Financial Need, Merit or Membership in the SEANC).  Go to www.seanc.org/scholarship to apply.    Deadline: April 15

    Scholarship applications are available online at CFNC.orgClick on “PAY” and then click “Grants and Scholarships” to view State and Federal Grants/Scholarships.

     Spouse’s Club Scholarship for Military Dependents:  To apply you must be a dependent of a SJAFB active duty, reserve, guard, retired, MIA/POW, deceased officer or enlisted member of the USAF.  Applications available under “Scholarships” at www.sjocsc.com.  You may also pick up an application in the counseling office.  Deadline: March 15

    Rotary Club Scholarship: A scholarship for $1,000 will be awarded to a deserving senior.  See Ms. Diggs for an application.  Deadline: April 1

     Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation:  To apply you must plan to attend a 4-year college OR a junior college, community college, vocational college or technical college.  Applications are in the counseling office.  Deadline: March 31

     ScholarshipExperts.com is a free scholarship matching service with a database of over 2.4 million scholarships worth over $14 billion.  Eligibility for these scholarships vary. 

     Crumley Roberts Founder’s Scholarship:  The law firm is offering scholarships for students who will attend a 4-year college/university.  Go to crumleyroberts.com to apply and check for the upcoming application release.  The scholarship is under the “Community” tab.  Deadline: January 31

    NC Bar Association Scholarship for Children of NC Law Enforcement Officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. Awards range from $1500 to $4500.  Apply online at http://www.ncbar.org/members/divisions/young-lawyers/Deadline: April 3

    NC Society of Accountants Scholarship:  You must plan to enroll in an accounting degree program with six or more credit hours per semester.  Applications are available in the counseling office.  Deadline: April 15

    Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship: This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students who are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Visit www.fashion-schools.org and find the link located at the bottom of the page.  Deadline: June 1

    Aspiring Animation Professional: A scholarship will be awarded to students interested in pursuing and animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Visit http://www.animationcareerreview.com to apply.  The scholarship link is on the right side of the page.  Deadline: June 1

    Aspiring Business Professional: This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a business degree.  Visit http://www.onlinembareport.com/ and find the scholarship on the right side of the page.  Deadline: June 1

    Abbott and Fenner Scholarship:  Students must submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website:  http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm  Deadline:  June 12th

     Student-View Scholarship Program:  The program awards one $4,000, one $1,000 and four $500 scholarships.  To apply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area.  Scholarships are awarded in a random drawing of all completed application surveys.  Deadline: April 22nd

    NC Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarships:  Several scholarships are available for students expecting to enroll in a four-year college or university in NC in fall of 2017.  All scholarships are in the amount of $2000.  Applications are in THE COUNSELING OFFICE.  Deadline:  March 15th

    Wayne Community College:  Scholarship applications are now available for students who plan to attend WCC in the fall.  Applications are in THE COUNSELING OFFICE and may also be downloaded at www.waynecc.edu/Foundation/, click "Scholarships".  Deadline:  March 31st
