  • BigSun Scholarship:  The organization awards scholarships to student athletes. You must be currently involved in athletics in some capacity either at school or in the community.  Go to to apply.  Deadline is June 19, 2017
  • Navy ROTC Scholarship:  Up to $180,000 to be awarded.  You must be a US citizen, at least 17 years old, have minimum ACT scores of 21 on Math and 22 in English or minimum SAT scores of 520 on math and 530 on verbal. Contact a Navy recruiter to apply.
  • US ARMY ROTC:  Students may be eligible for merit-based, full-tuition scholarships and an annual stipend of up to $5,000 to cover living expenses, plus additional allowances for books & fees.  For more information visit

    Air Force ROTC Scholarship:  You must meet the following minimum requirements to apply: SAT (Math/Critical Reading) 1180; ACT composite 26; 3.0 GPA.  Go to for more information and to apply.

    Forgivable Education Loans:  Please be aware that the following scholarships are serviced under Forgivable Education Loans (FELS):

    • Nurse Scholars
    • Prospective Teachers’ Scholarship Loan
    • Student Loan for Health, Science and Mathematics
    • Millennium Teacher Scholarship

    *Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship:  The program provides an opportunity for rural students to earn a $1500 scholarship to further their agricultural education.  Students must apply at

    Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship: This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students who are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Visit and find the link located at the bottom of the page.  Deadline: June 1

    Aspiring Animation Professional: A scholarship will be awarded to students interested in pursuing and animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Visit to apply.  The scholarship link is on the right side of the page.  Deadline: June 1

    Aspiring Business Professional: This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a business degree.  Visit and find the scholarship on the right side of the page.  Deadline: June 1

    Abbott and Fenner Scholarship:  Students must submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website:  Deadline:  June 12th

    Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship: Applicants must exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited community college in the US, demonstrate financial need, perseverance in overcoming an adversity and involvement in community service.  Apply online at   Deadline:  June 15th

     NC Community Foundation Scholarships:  Go to for the list of scholarships available.

     180 Medical Scholarship:  To apply you must have a spinal cord injury, spina bifida or transverse myelitis.  Go to to apply.  Deadline:  June 1st

    NC State Law Enforcement Officers Association Scholarship:  To apply you must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, major in some area of Criminal Justice or a related field, and be active in the community, church and/or school activities. Applications are in the counseling office.  Deadline: June 1st

    Balanced Man Scholarship: To apply you must be a male who plans to enroll full-time at NC State University in the fall.  Apply at   Deadline:  July 1st

    Betsy Y. Justus NCTA Founders Scholarship:  To apply you must be a female who has a GPA of at least 3.0 and plans to pursue an education in the area of technology or engineering.  Go to to apply.  Deadline:  May 31st

    Redfin Scholarship:  You must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and plan to attend college in the fall.  An essay is required. Apply at  July 31st
